Today is a holiday throughout Italy and much of Europe so I’ve been chilling, editing photos from yesterday and writing. I’m off to pasta lunch (2pm) at Nan and Mauro’s shortly. My landlady has not been getting me things needed for the apartment, including wifi, laundry detergent, dishwashing liquid, scissors, bread knife so I’m getting concerned about how this place will work out. I’m bringing my laptop over to N&M and will do some looking for other apartment options, and will also bring over my minimal laundry for Nan’s helper to do tomorrow.
After walking home, I felt the need for calzone and searched for a place. I did a bunch of searching around to well-recommended places, but all were closed for the holiday. One of the few open restaurants was the OK Bar, so I had a fabulous margherita pinsa (hand-pressed pizza that is becoming known outside Italy, made from soy, rice and wheat flour fermented for 72 hours) with crudo (ham) and other lovely stuff.
I’ll be starting my group Italian lessons tomorrow which will be 11-1 Tuesday through Friday this week.
