Class today where two classmates were attending their last day – Hartmut and Jana (my surgeon) from Germany. Our exercise today was to pair up and discuss fortune telling – one person was the fortune teller, one the client – not easy.
Afterwards I went to a nearby pizzeria and had a neopolitan pizza, then visited three museums – a record. First was Museo Zeffirelli about the director’s work – and I only went in because I thought it was the national museum. It had sets from his films and plays, stories of the actors and productions, ending with an exhibit of his Romeo and Juliette from 1968.
Next was Museo del Bargello which is the real national museum. Works by Donatello that were not being shown at the special exhibit elsewhere, including his bronze David, Islamic fabrics from hundreds of years ago, and ivory from a similar time. Amazing work done so long ago.
Then on to Palazzo Strozzi to see the full digital exhibit in the lower level - Let's Get Digital. I mentioned earlier the amazing digital video art in the main loggia of the palace, and more of it was downstairs, including NFTs and other art.
I was tired and hot, so it was onto a bus back home, turning on A/C, crashing while reading, then packing for my trip to Rome tomorrow to see Rebecca, Bill, James and Ben who arrived yesterday.
If you look at the photos, look at the descriptions with each one which will make them more understandable.
